Wednesday Training
Aim
To provide an in-depth understanding of the basic building blocks of Shibari in a progressive way. Unlike a workshop, training at BKD has a basis in quality over quantity and a focus on teaching you fewer patterns but strongly developing many fundamental skills.
Training format
The first two hours will be intensive learning where we will aim to perfect our techniques. Under a watchful eye you will learn that the minor details are important. The rest is free tying time! Feel free to jam, lab, ask questions or troubleshoot problems.
Teaching style
We take Shibari back to its roots as a martial art and teach in that style. Starting with the basics and perfecting each technique before you move on to the next one.
For who?
Those who want to learn Kinbaku! This class is tailored towards newcomers. For those that have never been to our classes before, the is a good place to start. If you are confident with things like your Takate Kote and suspension line management then our Monday training might be better suited for you.
Do I need a partner?
No, but it would be beneficial. Singles are welcome and we will endeavour to pair people off before the class starts so they can get the most out of it. Given the health crisis, we would prefer that people arranged their partners in advance where possible.
Where, when and how much?
Training is held in a central, easily accessible venue in Belfast. It is walking distance from the train station and there is free parking. Training price is a sliding scale of £10/12.50/15 per person.
